The Hawthorne Retreat was designed to follow the tradition of grand California Bungalows. Furnishings and finishes reflect the desires of the young couple and their tween twin daughters to replicate the Greene & Greene style with modern amenities. There is custom, stock and antique furniture. The home is centered on a tall, central stair, clad in vertical grain Douglas Fir with upper level clearstory windows. The back of the home has a Family Room and Kitchen opening to Porch and yard. Upstairs are Bedrooms with gabled sleeping porches, his and her Offices, Laundry, and Reading Alcove. A generous lower level houses Playroom, Conference Room, Exercise Room, Sauna, additional Guest Bedroom, and Wine Cellar.
